Makeup Revolution dropped their first ever liquid concealers on the 3rd of January 2018. These Conceal and Define concealers retail for £4 and come in an impressive 18 shades. The array of tones range from cool, neutral and warm. As in the name these concealers can also be used to contour and add definition.

Claims

“Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won’t setting or accentuate fine lines and pores. Long wearing intense pigment that can also be used to contour.”

Application

The concealer brush is a large doe foot applicator, the largest brush I have ever come across. The concealer itself is quite thick and blends quite easily with a damp beauty blender or your fingers, with thick concealers your fingertips work well as the heat in your fingertips warms up the product allowing it to blend easier. I attempted to blend this out with a dry beauty blender to see how it compared and I would not recommend doing that. The product stuck to the beauty blender and I could feel the tackiness pulling off my skin with the beauty blender.

To contour I used shade C15, I found this a shade too dark for me but I still wanted to try it out, I didn’t find a difference in formula based on the colour however it does dry fairly quickly. I applied the contour all over the face and by the time I had finished blending one side of my face the other side had dried and was very difficult to blend even with a damp beauty blender, I was tugging at my skin in an attempt to blend it seamlessly. The side that I blended first looked flawless and warmed the face really nicely, I would just recommend doing it bit by bit to avoid it setting on your face.

Longevity

I decided not to set my under-eyes with powder to see how it would last without it through the day. By the end of the night the concealer had stayed quite well, there was a little bit of creasing under the eyes and it had set into a few lines however I find this happens with most concealers by the end of the night.

The contour looked exactly how it did when I applied it, there was no patchiness and the formula hadn’t oxidised through wear either.

Overall Review

I find it very difficult to fault any Makeup Revolutions products and this is another. This full coverage concealer conceals dark circles and blemishes as well as being a good affordable contour product. My only qualm is that it only blends well with a damp beauty blender or a synthetic brush. I would purchase this as soon as you can as I can assure you these will sell out!
