Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter – Review

New on the market and already out of stock in the most popular shades Makeup Revolution just dropped their liquid highlighters, which look very similar to the Cover Fx drops but for almost a quarter of the price. They come in 7 shades suitable for all skin tones and are available from Superdrug or Tam Beauty.

“Our concentrated highly pigmented highlighter is a must have for all lovers of glow! Can be used alone as a liquid highlighter, Simply apply to the high points of the face and blend with a synthetic brush or sponge for dimension and glow.  Mix into your favourite foundation for a more dewy and luminous finish. Mix into your body lotion and creams for a gorgeous all over glow, or use alone with your everyday skincare for a natural glow from within on even bare skin days.”

The highlighters come in a handy (travel friendly) bottle with a pipet to dispense the product. If you’re applying this under your makeup the pipet is handy for applying a few drops to the face but if you’re using it on top of your makeup I would personally say it’s better to put a small amount on the back your hand and use a small brush or beauty blender to apply it to your face.

The product blends very easily and the consistency is just right, you only need a small amount of product so I can see this lasting you for a good while. I prefer a light highlight for everyday on the high points of my face but you can definitely build up the strength and it also looks good on the inner corner of the eyes!

The highlighter’s I have purchased are Starlight and Champagne, my personal favourite being Champagne.

I have oily skin so products wear off my skin a lot quicker than someone with normal skin, but let me tell you this was still going strong towards the end of the night. The highlighter on my nose however had started to wear off quite a bit as I do get consdierably oily there but the highlighter on my cheekbones and under my brow lasted quite well.

Overall Thoughts

I really do like these highlighters, I am yet to try them under or mixed into my foundation but I will let you know my thoughts once I do. For the price you are getting a bargain, which is exactly what Makeup Revolution are reknown for. I can’t fault the pigmentation or staying power!

Overall Review : 5/5
